So I’m sat here, unable to sleep and suddenly had a thought… ‘what would people think if they saw my YouTube watch history?’
Naturally, I did what any sane person would do and made a list of some of my oddities and guilty pleasures public.
- Before Marvel made it cool to sit through the credits to catch a glimpse of a preview for the next movie, I did this already.
For as long as I can remember I would sit and watch the whole credits, my weird obsession is finally paying off!
I noticed they’ve started doing this on TV shows as well for example the first episode of Sherlock season 4 had a little extra at the end.
The reason I watch all TV show credits is because they used to do a ‘next week’ segment to get you even more excited, this is probably where this oddity originated.
That or I was too lazy to change the channel, it’s a combination of the two sometimes.
- I love watching award ceremonies. (Don’t judge me!)
All of them…Golden Globes, BAFTAS, Oscars etc. they used to be televised a lot more…or maybe they still are I’m not sure as the way I watch TV is different.
But I still watch the opening monologues and skits that celebrities do on YouTube, I actually sit there on my phone and type in Golden Globes 2017. I can’t explain this one.
It also involves the Indian award ceremonies, that last 6 hours (without ads), overly edited and overrun but they’re good to watch because of the song and dance numbers.
- Makings of’s & blooper reels.
Again I can’t explain, but I spend hours on YouTube watching ‘bloopers’ or ‘gag reels’. Actually I blame Friends and Supernatural for this little obsession.
I love the making of segments and would watch all aspects of them for any movie I had on DVD. Still do in fact, when I have time and if it’s a movie I’ve loved.
- My latest fad is watching reaction videos.
So this is basically YouTubers reacting to trailers of movies / TV shows / music videos. I seem to only limit it to any reaction videos of anything Bollywood, watching a non-Desi person watching Bollywood trailers for a film is exciting to me. Seriously don’t ask. I love the mix of cultures I guess.
- TV Talk Shows
UK ,US and Indian alike. I love them all. By far my favourite is Graham Norton! But Ellen, the two Jimmy’s in the US, James Cordon, Koffee with Karan to name a few. YouTube is my hub.
The Indians ones a bit pompous, because they’re all ‘friends’ but it doesn’t make them any less entertaining.
(I’m sorry I don’t subscribe when you ask me too!!)
NB…I’m sure there are others, but five is enough for now. I’ll probably do another list of non-TV related things I do that are odd. Believe me there’s plenty. Also, to limit the amount of wasted nonsense time I spend on YouTube I’ve started watching TedEx talks, they’re really good!!
Have a good day xo
